Yunfeng Zhu is a principal designer with over 25 years of experience, known for integrating spatial aesthetics with brand-driven visual narratives. His work is grounded in the philosophy of “the coexistence of tradition and contemporaneity, and the fusion of culture and art,” bridging Eastern cultural heritage with a global design perspective to create refined, high-end spatial experiences.
Trained under renowned artist Chen Yifei, Zhu developed a strong artistic foundation and interdisciplinary approach early in his career. As former Design Director of LayefeHome, he led the development of a high-end design language that balanced artistic expression with commercial value, contributing to the brand’s growth within the premium market.
His portfolio spans luxury residential, commercial, and cultural projects, serving international brands such as Swarovski and Elizabeth Arden, as well as over 100 established clients. His work consistently delivers integrated design solutions that elevate brand identity and spatial experience.
Zhu’s projects have received multiple international design awards, including the London Design Awards, MUSE Design Awards, APDC Asia Pacific Design Awards, and IDEA-TOPS. He was also recognized as “Designer of the Year” in China. Internationally, he is the first Chinese designer to collaborate with Italian luxury furniture brand Asnaghi, and has been featured by INTERIOR DESIGN Magazine.
He is currently leading the design of the Beijing Dance and Drama Theater, a landmark cultural project that reinterprets traditional narratives through a contemporary spatial language, demonstrating his capability in large-scale public and cultural environments.
His representative project Dream of Datong explores immersive spatial storytelling, translating historical and cultural elements into contemporary experiential design.
