  Stylt was founded in 1991 by Erik Nissen Johansen, a Norwegian visionary and artist with a passion for creative concepts and engaging experiences. With more than 30 years within the hospitality business, Stylt’s portfolio includes a wide range of award-winning hotels, restaurants and destinations around the world. Storytelling and powerful narratives are created as guideline for the design and architecture - stories that bring brands to life and generate exceptional guest experiences.

Since 2010, The Reef in Frederikshavn, Denmark, has been Scandinavia’s leading adventure waterpark—designed by Swedish concept and design agency Stylt, who created the original immersive Caribbean theme.
Now, fifteen years later, Stylt has returned to elevate the entire experience with a full-scale renovation, turning the hotel into a truly holistic resort: emotionally resonant, operationally smart, and bursting with personality.
The design merges rich color, tropical greenery, and natural materials to create a playful, inclusive, warm and welcoming atmosphere.
