  • About Firm
Mikyoung Kim is an award-winning international Landscape Architecture and Urban Design Studio in Boston, Massachusetts. As designers of restorative landscapes, we address some of the most pressing public health related issues through our research in human cognition. Our evidence-based design work engages communities and landscapes across the spectrum, bringing restoration and wonder to the everyday experience.

The Boston Children’s Hospital Campus focuses on bringing restorative gardens and effective medical care to patients, families, and caregivers. The gardens rise like a living tree from ground to sky, revolutionizing healthcare design through neuroinclusive designs that heal. Each garden space is thoughtfully calibrated to accommodate different stimulation thresholds and social preferences, from active play to quiet reflection. These adaptable landscapes demonstrate how strategic green space can transform healthcare delivery through careful attention to the full spectrum of human experience.
