  • About Firm
PLACE is a design studio committed to social impact through STEWARDSHIP, COMMUNITY, and ART to make the world a better place.

Celebrating the beauty of the Pacific Northwest, the team reimagined the Main Terminal as a walk in the forest. Uniquely PDX - the America’s Best Airport, transcends complexities of travel and creates a sense of wonder inherent in regional ethos – biophilic, calming, resilient, and restorative. A park-like space, with 70 large natural trees and 5,000 cascading plants under the stunning locally sourced 9-acre mass timber roof, strategically offers wayfinding. Oregon-inspired landscapes and digital artworks complete the immersive experience, welcoming all to Portland’s newest destination.
