The Mandrake is a mixed-use commercial high-rise in central Nairobi, dubbed the 'Vertical Savanna'. Its brutalist, charcoal-pigmented concrete form pays homage to Kenyan modernism, embodying strength and material austerity. Draped in a living green veil of native grasses and plants, the tower enhances urban biodiversity while improving thermal comfort, shading, and air quality. This fusion of raw concrete and indigenous landscaping creates a striking, climate-responsive landmark that redefines sustainable urban architecture in the heart of the city.
