Emerging from the hillside with an integrated sod roof, the house embraces the natural slope while opening to the panoramic views to create a biophilic experience. Shed roofs capture exterior space while providing optimal solar control as they drain to feed the sod roofs. Thermal mass stone walls complemented by high performance triple pane glass create a dichotomy of mass & void and enhance passive solar performance. Hydronic radiant floors combined with fan coil units powered by an air to water heat pump create a sustainable system within the super insulated low maintenance envelope.
