  Stylt was founded in 1991 by Erik Nissen Johansen, visionary and artist with a passion for creative concepts and engaging experiences. More than 30 years later, Stylt’s portfolio includes a wide range of award-winning projects within the international hospitality industry. Located in the small Swedish town Vimmerby, this hotel built in 1868 used to be the place for business and pleasure. After years of neglect, Stylt renovated and re-designed the premises, bringing it back to its former glory with a modern twist. In 2023, the Swedish designers created an intimate spa deep beneath the hotel; a hidden gem with pools, saunas, and lounge where evocative lighting accentuates the 19th-century basement vaults. Playing with shadow and light, vibrant colors and calmer expressions, it offers a clubbish yet relaxed feel – an extravagant escape for a selected audience.
