The Chen 12 shops in Kinmen County were renovated to preserve their historic aesthetics and functionality, with government subsidies encouraging civilian participation. The encaustic tiles and windows retain 40s to 60s motifs, and restoration included structural reinforcement, façade renovation, and rooftop waterproofing. The luminous environment features four systems that revitalize commercial activity and tourism while highlighting the historic value of the Houpu street neighborhood.
