  David Richards and Peter Basmajian established the practice in Hong Kong in 1986. In the field of Hospitality Design, the company has completed a wide range of complex Retail, Hotel, Clubhouse, Restaurant and Healthcare projects. The Holiday Inn Express in Kwun Tong, HK, is a 31F, 286 key hotel. With a narrow frontage the client wanted a strong presence on the street. This is achieved with the vividly coloured backdrop to the waiting area. The backdrop symbolises a nest formed by branches and twigs with the bright colours of bird feathers. The nest gives comfort, warmth and protection to the weary traveler - a theme that continues throughout and into the hotel rooms where branches turn to green symbolising new growth.
