  • About Firm
Steuart Padwick and Natalie Alexopoulos have created two major public works of art over the last couple of years to help raise awareness of mental health issues, and to reach out to those experiencing difficulties. Padwick’s recent body of work began during a residency he did in Maine in 2014. Up until that time he was best known as a furniture and lighting designer, which he has been doing since the 80s having trained at Parnham House and the Royal College of Art.

In 2018, Head Above Water made a dramatic change to the London skyline, with panoramic views of St Pauls and the iconic city skyline. It stood as a symbol of hope, bravery, compassion and positivity, supporting Time to Change’s campaign to remove the stigma of mental illness.
It was both a physical and a phycological shelter.
It showed that we, as a society do care, do want to help and that you are not alone. Working with the IOPPN, HAW was lit with colours/moods reflecting 14 emotions from Love or Hate, to Happy or Sad. You could tweet an 'emotion' and within 2 secs the colour changed.
